Step 1: Cleaning & Painting
The first step, and not least, is to prepare your vehicle for future work, which means, first and foremost, to carry out a good big cleaning.
We worked with what was at hand, our only weapons: sponges, dish soap and elbow grease. We bought a product exclusively designed to clean the carpeted ceiling, soiled by mold, but faced with its inefficiency we resigned ourselves to the use of dishwashing liquid even at this location.
Do not underestimate the potential of this soap which is a good degreaser while remaining much less aggressive than a conventional detergent, and it is effective on all surfaces and has a low cost.
Once your van shines as one under nine, it’s time for you to estimate if the interior would deserve a small renovation. Our van had previously belonged to a craftsman who was to transport his work equipment there. In other words, our carriage had kept some stigmata. To give it a new look, we sanded the interior parts of the bodywork manually with a sandpaper, in order to break the layer of varnish and allow the paint to adhere. Then, using a bomb of paint in white spray basic for metal support, we repainted the parts that deserved it.
